Cipmox is employed to address various bacterial infections, including tonsillitis, pneumonia, and ear infections. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative infections. Cipmox is utilized for a wide range of bacterial infections, such as bronchitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, intestinal infections like salmonella (food poisoning), urinary tract infections, sinus infections, and gonorrhea. In conjunction with other medications, Cipmox is also prescribed for treating intestinal ulcers.
Amoxicillin is part of the penicillin antibiotic class. It treats bacterial infections affecting the respiratory system, genital and urinary tracts, skin and soft tissues, as well as the ear, nose, sinuses, throat, heart, kidneys, urethra, or bladder.
The prescribed dosage of Cipmox for adults is 250 mg taken three times a day. For pediatric patients, the dosage is between 100 mg to 150 mg, also three times a day. Depending on the severity of the bacterial infection in adults, the dosage may be increased to 500 mg taken three times daily. Cipmox should always be consumed with a full glass of water and on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before lunch or 2 to 3 hours after lunch.
Common side effects associated with regular Cipmox use include: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, urticaria, skin rashes, serum sickness, elevated SGOT levels, anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura, eosinophilia, leukopenia, and agranulocytosis.
Immediately consult your doctor if you experience any symptoms of allergic reactions, such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling from fluid retention, hives, or skin rashes.
